Curtain Wall Sealant Production Line

We not only provide dual planetary mixers, but also have extensive experience in the dehydration, dispersion, and vacuum processes of curtain wall sealant. Our equipment is specifically designed for high-solids, high-viscosity formulations, ensuring that each batch achieves a fineness of less than 5μm and a stable skinning time.
Curtain wall sealant is a high-performance room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone rubber with extremely high viscosity, sensitivity to moisture, and zero tolerance for air bubbles.

Curtain Wall Sealant Production Line Equipment

Equipment Function
Base material storage tank Automated pumping reduces manual contact and prevents material contamination
Automatic powder feeding system Vacuum feeding or screw conveyor ensures zero dust emissions and improves the working environment
Double planetary mixer Double-unit agitator + high speed dispersing disc. Supports both lifting and fixed tank types
Hydraulic presser Curtain wall sealant cannot flow by gravity and must be forced out by a hydraulic disc
Filling machine Automatic filling, capping and coding; supports rigid tube or flexible bag packaging

double planetary mixer

Why is double planetary mixer the preferred choice for curtain wall sealant?

Curtain wall sealant typically have a viscosity far exceeding that of ordinary coatings and contain a large amount of silica reinforcing filler.

  • Planetary revolution and rotation: Two agitator blades revolve around the center of the tank while simultaneously rotating at high speed on their own axes. This trajectory ensures that the material, even at extremely high viscosity, undergoes intense tearing and cross-movement.
  • Low-gap shearing: The gaps between the blades and the tank wall, and between blades themselves, are typically controlled at 3-5mm. Strong mechanical shearing thoroughly disperses the silica, eliminating any graininess.
  • Vacuum-sealed polymerization: Curtain wall sealant cures upon contact with moisture in the air; therefore, the entire mixing process must be conducted under a high vacuum above -0.098 MPa, simultaneously removing trace amounts of moisture and air bubbles from the material.

Curtain Wall Sealant Production Line FAQ

1. What if the material heats up too quickly during production, causing premature solidification?

Our double planetary mixer is equipped with a precision cold water jacket, and in conjunction with a PT100 temperature sensor inside the mixer, it responds to the exothermic curve in real time, ensuring that the material temperature remains within a safe range below 50°C.

2. Is cleaning troublesome when changing production batches?

The inner wall of the mixer is mirror-polished with Ra < 0.4μm. During discharge, the scraper of the hydraulic press can remove more than 98% of the residue on the inner wall, greatly reducing the frequency of cleaning and material loss.

3. How to choose between double planetary mixer and sigma mixer?

Sigma mixer is suitable for mixing ultra-high viscosity "block" materials (such as raw rubber); while double planetary mixer is more suitable for fluid-like materials with extremely high requirements for dispersion fineness and degassing, such as curtain wall adhesives and electronic adhesives.
