Butyl glue is a non-curing adhesive with high sealing and aging resistance properties, made by mixing butyl rubber as the main body with polyisobutylene, tackifying resin, filler and oil in precise proportions.

Butyl Glue Production Line Equipment Configuration

  1. Metering and batching system: Accurately weigh raw materials (butyl rubber, tackifying resin, oil, filler, etc.) to ensure stable ratio.
  2. Sigma mixer: Main mixing equipment, for shearing, stirring, kneading and mixing high viscosity materials, generally using screw discharge.
  3. Heating system: Control the kneading temperature to help the rubber and other raw materials mix evenly. Temperature range: 80-140℃.
  4. Vacuum system: Degassing the rubber material to improve the density and quality of butyl glue.
  5. Screw extruder: The glue compound is continuously extruded adn formed, ready to enter the cooling or pressing section. The die shape can be adjusted to control the width and thickness of the glue strip.
  6. Cooling system (cooling belt/water cooling platform): Cooling and shaping to facilitate subsequent cutting or curling.
  7. Strip cutter/slitter: Cut the cooled butyl glue into specified length or width. Suitable for butyl glue stick or tape.

Insulating glass sealing Increase the proportion of butyl rubber to enhance air tightness and aging resistance
Self-adhesive tape Increase the content of polyisobutylene to improve flexibility and initial adhesion
Waterproof roll overlap sealing Increase the content of petroleum resin to improve adhesion
Automative headlights/interior sealing Add polymer modifiers to improve low-temperature flexibility and environmental protection performance
